Since the pool was closed today, I had to find something to do with the girls while babysitting. I decided to take them to McDowell Nature Preserve, located just on the North Carolina side of Lake Wylie. We spent some time checking out the nature center, where we got to see live animals and watch the frogs and turtles eat their lunches. We learned about camoflauge, animal tracks, and how to determine the age of trees. We took a hike on a trail before we ate our lunch down by the water. We had to try to avoid the flies in the picnic area....they were really hungry and wanted to eat our lunches. The girls were a bit scared by the flies and kept running from them.
